First Thursday | Open Studios at Solar Arts Building

Join us for our First Thursday open studios event from 5-9pm!

Each month, we do a big open studios event with chances to meet the artists, do a family friendly outing, enjoy live musicians, and join our community for the day kind of thing.

It’s the only set “open to the public” event we do where all the doors and elevators are set up for totally open access up to the 2nd floor; outside of Art-A-Whirl and our holiday art shows, of course.

Hope to see you there!

Join us for our next Live Well Workshop: Stressed AF

Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios is hosting Anastasia Galka for our next Live Well Workshop where she will be teaching women better ways to get good at stress- because life is going to throw down, ready or not.

Stressed? Overwhelmed? Burned out?

You're not alone, and it's not personal!

How do we build resiliency when life continues to throw down again, and again, and- come on! again?!

In this 60 minute workshop Anastasia will go over how stress works in the body, how to use stress as the amazing tool it is, and not lose your mind with the constant changes. (No ditching your partner, buying a magic supplement, or less children required to accomplish this)

You will leave feeling empowered and stop taking stress so personally. We will practice, in real time, multiple strategies so you can FEEL the difference in your body NOW.

When: Wednesday, July 27th 7-8pm (arrive between 6:30-7:00pm)

Where: Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios

Cost: FREE

RSVP: Required via Eventbrite

Our monthly workshops are FREE so that you can have a chance to check out the studio, get an expert point in the right direction, and jumpstart a season of wild compassion for yourself and your growth for your life. We hope you can join the discussion!

Live Well Workshop: Yoga for Daily Life

Live Well Workshop: Yoga for Daily Life

Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios is hosting a special Live Well Workshop for women who want to learn how to weave yoga into everyday life. We are hosting certified yoga teacher Julianne Hide for this workshop.

Yoga can be more than just on your mat. Yoga can be starting your day with a mindful intention and a few easy stretches. Yoga is knowing how to take a few deep breaths after a difficult experience. Yoga is easing tension in your neck right at your desk or placing the body in a relaxation pose before bed to help you sleep. Yoga can be a great aid in rising to the challenges that life throws at you.

Julianne will provide an introduction to enjoying the benefits of a yoga practice that fits into your schedule and using yoga as medicine for the mind and body.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • A gentle but energizing sequence to ease you into your day

  • Yoga poses that address specific challenges like menstrual cramps, improving digestion and stimulating the immune system

  • A calming sequence to do before bed to help you fall sleep

What to bring:

  • You can totally come as you are! If you are coming right from work or a busy stop at home, feel free to come as you are and you can participate in any clothing and sit in a chair at the studio for the workshop.

  • If you have the capacity, you can come in comfortable clothing and bring with a yoga mat or small blanket if you'd like to really dig into the sequences on the floor.

When: Wednesday, June 29th 7-8pm (arrive between 6:30-7:00pm)

Where: Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios

Cost: FREE

RSVP: Required via Eventbrite

About Julianne Hide:

I started practicing yoga in college and I was instantly hooked because it was so helpful for coping with stress. After college I lived in London for 10 years. Living there gave me access to study with teachers from various disciplines, which helped me develop my personal practice. I also took an introductory teacher training course through the British Wheel of Yoga. When I moved back to MN I took a 230 hour teacher training at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis and became certified in prenatal and postnatal yoga. I feel very lucky to have studied both in London and Minneapolis with so many teachers from different styles and backgrounds. My own style of yoga blends together the wisdom of my teachers with a focus on slowing down and using yoga as an invitation to go deeper into what truly brings physical and mental well-being.

Live Well Workshop: How to Eat for Happy, Balanced Hormones

Join Us for Our Next Live Well Workshop: How to Eat for Happy, Balanced Hormones

Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios is hosting Monica Hoss MS, RD, LD at the end of the month to dive deep into hormone health through nutrition.

There is a silent epidemic happening to women- it’s hormonal imbalance. Do you ever feel like you’re doing all the right things but still feel off? Or maybe you’ve been taught that part of being a woman is just dealing with hormone fluctuations. You don’t need to suffer any longer.

Certain foods can throw your hormones and your body off balance. In the same way, other foods can boost your hormone health and promote balance. If you've already made positive changes to your diet and lifestyle, yet you are still feeling off, it's time to investigate whether there may be some unexpected hormone-disrupting foods or chemicals hidden in the foods you are eating.

Hormonal issues can feel really hard to overcome. However, many of the things that contribute to hormonal balance can be controlled (even changed) through a healthy diet and lifestyle changes. You’ll learn how to take control in this workshop and have happy hormones.

You’ll learn:

  • Why hormone balance matters

  • Common signs of imbalance

  • Foods that support hormone balance

  • Foods that do not support hormone balance

  • Lifestyle factors to consider

  • Plus take home a recipe booklet full of hormone balancing meal ideas!

When: Wednesday, April 27th 7:00pm-8:00pm

Where: Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios in NE Minneapolis

Cost: FREE

RSVP: Required via Eventbrite

About Monica Hoss, MS, RD, LD

I consider myself a modern dietitian who believes in a real foods, functional approach to nutrition. I like to teach my clients to focus more on how food truly makes them feel. As a result they become more in-tune with their own body’s signals and naturally start to move towards foods that nourish their body. I also preach that while we want to choose nourishing foods most of the time, there is absolutely room for fun foods too! One of my favorite things in life is enjoying a charcuterie board and bottle of clean crafted wine with friends on a patio. I love to travel, but most of the time you can find me hanging out with my husband, 2 kids and dogs at our home in Woodbury.

Boss Lady Book Club: Atlas of the Heart

Would you like to elevate how you show up to work and life with diverse but like minded women? Committing to reading more can definitely be part of that mix in your life!

Get ready for our 2022 Boss Lady Book Club! The books are a mix of personal and professional development.

This year it will run through Eventbrite and have tiers of tickets (the earlier you grab a spot the less it is- starting at $FREE.99).

You will RSVP through Eventbrite for each month/title you'd like to join: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/brett-dorrian-artistry-studios-17642103269

It will be run virtually through Zoom the last Tuesday of the month from 7pm-8pm.

Rules:

This is a safe environment to engage in discussion of the books we read.

Pricing tiers help you have skin in the game as a commitment device.

All paid tickets are non-refundable if you drop your attendance at any time.

All free tickets are meant to make early commitment come with an incentive; but if you don't show up to one, your future free tickets will be released to those serious about attending the limited spots.

In other words, only sign up for what you intend to commit to please.

A book recap via video and written document will be sent in prep for the chat.
